| Water Splash
These operations were carried out using Bryce 4. |

The image left shows the effect that we are after. It is achieved by applying a custom material to an inverted terrain or cone. The image left uses a terrain. You need to download the material here and import it into your User material library. Click here to download the Water Splash Material. |
If you decide to use a terrain, create one and enter the Terrain Editor. Raise the clipping bracket to remove the square base and click on the Smooth button several times. Back in the Scene Editor invert the terrain by rotating 180 degrees around the X or Z axis. Apply the Water Splash material. |
The terrain is sized and stretched along the Y axis to give you the required height of the splash. |

Here the material is applied to an inverted cone for a more regular splash. |

Here is the wireframe view of the cone. In both of these versions a rock has been positioned in the appropriate place. |
When the material is applied try varying the transparency and reflection values to give the right effect in your lighting conditions. |
