| The Trouble with Victoria Zygote have just produced their most ambitious Poser model yet - called Victoria the Millenium Woman. The model has a texture map (purchased seperately) which is in three parts, Body, Head and Lashes. When you render this model in Poser all is fine but if you import it into Bryce 4 and apply the texture maps you will find that the head map does not render the eyes properly - they are all white. Also rendering the eyelashes can be a bit tricky. This tutorial is for those purchasers of Victoria who want to use this superb model and texture map in Bryce 4. Note that you must purchase the Victoria texture map separately or make your own from the free downloadable templates - you can't apply the Poser 4 nude woman texture map to this model. |

With the whole figure selected and the body map (MilBodyM) applied, this is the result - the body parts are mapped correctly but the head isn't. |

Select the head as shown to the left by dragging a marquee around it. Make sure you don't select anyof the neck parts.
Apply the head texture MilHeadM. |

This is the result with the body texture applied to the body and the head texture applied to the head. Notice that the eyes have not mapped properly.
This is the problem with Victoria in Bryce 4. Hold the Control key down and click over the right eye and select Right_Eye_1 mesh. With this sphere selected you can either reduce its size or delete it. Once it's out of the way you'll find the eye will map correctly. |

This shows the result of the last operation with the eyes now mapping correctly.
Now all we have to do is fix the ugly eye lashes. Hold the Control key down and click over the eyelashes and select Head_5 this mesh comprises Left and Right upper and lower lashes all in one. |

Apply the eyelash texture map. The picture editor should look like this. |

Click on Copy under the first picture and click on Paste under the second picture. Click on Yes when you are asked if you want to delete. The picture editor should look like this. |

In the Materials Lab place a Column A marker in Transparency and remove all other markers. Set Diffusion and Ambience to zero. Go back to the Scene Editor and the lashes should now render correctly.

But wait there's more! Rather than delete the two eye spheres which don't render in Bryce, give them a clear glass texture with 100% transparency and you'll get the eyes reflecting as to the left. Also select the lips, which are a separate mesh in this model and bump up the specularity. Result to the left. Have fun, Peter. |
