When you are rendering a close-up of a Poser face the eyes and lips become more prominent and look very flat. There is no highlight in the eyes and no moistness on the lips and as a result the rendered image looks very flat. Well you can make the eyes look bright and the lips moist by using a second texture map. |

First import your figure, position it and apply a standard Poser texture map. For details on how to do this see my Tutorial 11 regarding this. Now load that same texture map into Photoshop or other image editing software. You will notice that all the "wet bits" are grouped together in the top right corner of the texture map. Here they are outlined in red. |

In your image editor, black out all the "wet bits" and white out all the remainder of the image as shown at the left. |

Back in Bryce, with your Poser figure selected, click on [M] to enter the Materials Lab. Insert a place marker in column B alongside Specularity as arrowed here. A random texture panel will appear. Click on the P button and then click on the pinkish button above it to enter the Picture Editor. |

The Picture Editor screen should now look like this. Click on the check mark and exit the Picture Editor. Click again on the checkmark to exit the Materials Lab. |

Now render your image and notice that now there is a shine in the eyes and the lips are moist and shiny. |

This image has had some of the contours softened and the eyelashes detailed in Photoshop. Have fun! |
