Create a Terrain and click on the [E] button (arrowed) to enter the Terrain Editor.
Click on New. Leave the Grid Size at 128 and make the brush as large as possible. The hardness should be at minimum i.e. maximum softness. |
Centre the brush in the middle of the terrain canvas an without moving the mouse click the left mouse button about 5 times. |
Now reset the brush size to the size of the required base. Select a grey shade about 4 steps up from the bottom black. Centre the brush and click again about 4 to 5 times. |

Here you see the result of the last operation. |

Now drag the bottom end of the clipping bracket up slightly to define the edge of your bowl. The surrounding area should turn red. |
Now return to your scene editor and turn the bowl the right way up and give it a texture - here I've used brushed gold. Altering the Y Size value will alter the depth and turn the shallow bowl into a plate or dish. Dishes and plates produced in this manner will not exhibit the plygonal edges often seen in imported DFX models. |
